Dirt inside rpm gauge glass

Guys; I have some dirt stains on the inside of my rpm gauge glass. Does that thing just pop off? the glass protector that is. It feels like it should but do not want to try and damage it.

The face can be detached, but you need to remove the cluster from the car and disassemble it. You can use this write up Pelican Technical Article: Boxster Instrument Cluster Bulb Replacement - 986 / 987 as a guide.

Good luck.
