This, a white on black 1986 Porsche 944 NA.
As I knew nothing about buying cars, I had to get an engine rebuild after 200 kilometers of ownership!

My younger brother's 1st car was a 1967 Cougar with a big hole in the passenger front floor board. My Dad liked them so that's what he bought. If you hit a puddle while driving water would splash the driver a little & front passenger ALOT. My brother soon found floor mats heavy enough to prevent much water intrusion. I think my dad paid $700 for it.

1970 Chevy No-va, two door death coupe.
Cherry bomb exhaust, air shocks and flat black paint. 1600$ in 1986. Wish I had a pic.
Wrapped it around a tree. Battery passed through the rad. Rear drivers side wheel left the seen. Passenger door fell off. They had to pull it from the side to get it out from around the tree. The front end was actually at a 90 degree angle to the rear. All remaining wheels jammed up into the wheel wells. My chest put the steering wheel into the dash.
Needless to say it didn't buff out

My first was a 72 Nova, 350 w barrel. Bought it in 78 for 500.00. The first choice was a was a 72 GTO Judge for an even grand. My dad would not let me buy it as a 16 year old. I might not be posting today if he had said yes. A few years later I was driving him down the autobahn in a V12 Jag at three times the US speed limit. He was in the back seat and my Mom was in the front seat with her eyes closed. We thought she was asleep.

Guessing you mean 71 Judge since that's the last year it was made. 69,70,& 71
I tried to buy a 69 Judge converible for years, one of 108 made that 1st year. Also 2 hard tops a couple miles from where I lived 25 years ago. Owners wouldn't sell until they are rusting away!

I started with a SEAT Ibiza TDI 1.4L 70hp ! A BEAST ! ^^
Then a Renault Twingo RS (133hp), a Twingo GT (100hp 1.2L turbo), an Eunos Roadster (a miata imported from japan, 115hp), then the boxster !
The Roadster is what really got me started in the automotive field !

That's really cool your first new car was a Corvette at 19, that's pretty impressive. I had a 70 Corvette but I was 34 when I bought it. I had a 93 base Corvette and a 91 ZR1 since then. I'm Vetteless now but always liked the C1 and C2 models, maybe someday!

My first car was a 1964 I think Malibu that was pretty bad, my sister went with me to buy it. My dad came home and asked who's car that was and we returned it a few hours later. I'm surprised the seller gave me my money back, but my dad was pretty upset with him for selling it to me and I was a minor. I guess my first car was a 1969 Opel Kadett Rallye bought in 1972 for around $650.00 from Jordan's used car lot, I kept that for about a year. I remember learning how to drive stick on the ride home, lol. This isn't my car but it looks just like it including the color. I guess my Porsche is my second German car. It was a fun little car, I remember push starting it myself on a few occasions.

Fist car I ever had was a 1995 Nissan Sentra at 16 y/o. First car I could proudly call mine was a 2000 Acura Integra type R at 18. I decided to get rid of her 6 years ago to go back to school and not have to worry about it getting stolen(only source of transportation at the time). Till this day I still miss that car so much and frequently check craigslist to see if can find it. Invested every penny I had into the R at the time including countless hours wrenching on it wen needed. I had that car so familiarized, I could do the clutch in an hour on jackstands by myself!
..still hoping I find it one day. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it back
My buddy and I going on a morning ride before I sold it!

A 1963 Corvair similar to this one. 4 wheel independent suspension, rear engine twin single barrel carbs air cooled flat 6. Came with a two speed slip and slide automatic transmission that I swapped out for a four speed (when I was 17).

My best friend's first car was a 98 white Type R. It was #1010 and he kept in excellent condition up until about 5 years ago. He was on his way back from a track day and an F-150 rear ended him and totaled it. Such a bummer. I think it only had about 60,xxx miles on it too. He was going to buy it back but just had his first child and decided to just let it go.
My first car was a 1985 Jeep Cherokee 4 cylinder that I got for free from my cousin. The shifter was broken off and he didn't know how to fix it. My dad welded it back together and threw me the keys and said, "Go learn how to drive stick!" Many great memories in that Jeep even though it was the biggest POS.

At 15 and a half a 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7 with over 200k on it for $800. Over the next 18 months I rebuilt essential the whole drivetrain minus the axel and redid the paint, chrome and interior. Did much of it myself.
First mode of motorized transportation was a Honda moped with a 50cc motor. I still have a two wheeled ride, a Triumph Daytona 675.
