New England owners - when do you use hard top?

I bought my car back in July, so I immediately put the hardtop in the basement. I'm curious as to when others make use of it in my region.
Do you guys have a trigger that prompts you to throw the hardtop on?

It seems like southerners put it on during the summer and take it off for their "cooler" months.

A "canned" answer might be when installing winter wheels/tires.

Garage
I have one and never use it. I don't drive my car in the winter. I live in RI. I put the top down and the speedster humps around March and put the top up and cover on around November. Its more of an accessory like a nice pair of shoes that you never where but look real nice.

I don't live in New England (does that matter?), but we do have winter here, and I use mine from when it gets cold in October until May, when it really warms up. I love my hard top! It takes less than 5 minutes to install it.

What is cold in WY in October?
Maybe I'll make it a date like Nov 1, or when I turn the heat on in the house.

Lows in the 20s, highs in the 50s, or when it starts to snow. It snowed in the Tetons above 8,000' yesterday. I'd just wait and watch the weather, instead of picking a date.
