Aftermarket radio Dead

Okay, I took my 2001 Boxster S into the shop to have them install a Mass airflow sensor. They got that done, cleared the code for the Check engine light and it runs good now, But the radio is dead. The equalizer below the radio is dead also. When I lock it, the radio security light flashes. So I take it back to them and they say I just need to go buy a new radio that mine was junk. The radio is not that old. They said there is power and ground there. Checked all fuses and they were fine. Is there something else to try, my wife is sick of my singing when we drive. TIA
