The evolution of my interior
Went from this.
Too this.
And finally too this. I dyed the dash black, changed the wheel, airbag and added a double din GPS unit. I love the way it turned out. What do you guys think?

Wow... very nice. Plus, you did it yourself and the way you wanted it. The steering wheel and airbag are two of the best mods IMHO.

The steering wheel is a regular three spoke recovered and padded by Carsdream. The airbag is the leather Porsche three spoke model. I'd like to thank Chuck W for telling me about Carsdream and giving me a great deal on the GPS receiver.

Thanks guys! It has taking me a few years to get this far. It looks even better at night thanks to particlewave hooking me up with some blue LEDs in the climate control and buttons

Definitely better without the red!
The all blue interior lighting makes it feel much more modern, too. Glad to help
How about another picture of the interior lit up?

Like the wheel - a lot.
Would have kept the distinctive red though, (perhaps with a re-dye) over the more generic black. But it looks well done, and if it suits your taste then power to ya and props on the job.

Thanks. Well I liked the red, but. The seats were trashed, the carpet was pink and the leather was faded. I got a great deal on the black seats and went on from there. I got a black carpet and roll pads from woody. Then I was going to re dye the dash and door panels red. But I really didn't care for the two tone look so I just went with all black. I kinda had inspiration from a 996 turbo interior. It now looks quite a bit like one. If only adding the extra 250 hp was as easy and affordable

Very nice, I do like the 3 spoke steering wheel, as opposed to the 4 spoke.

How much did that set you back? It looks terrific. Cost of padding the steering wheel and dying the dash. I did the interior and the shell of the bucket seats in silver like the car.

Looks great. Did you die the dash with it still in the car?

I think the dye cost around $75 for the kit. I got a big kit so I could dye the door panels and some other parts. The wheel wrap cost was $250 plus shipping to Poland I think.
I bought the wheel off of here for $150. The leather air bag was expensive, $325 for that.

Yes I dyed the dash while it was still in the car. I started a thread about it a few months ago. I did take all the trim off though. I think it came out great, but I may take the dash out in the spring to make it better. No one can tell it's dyed unless I point out some flaws. But if it bugs me enough I will take the whole thing out and give it a few more coats with an airbrush.

Scale of 1 to 10, how hard was the dash?
