There are two reasons to go to the dealer for routine service. One is to catch mechanical issues while the car is still under warranty as well as build a rapport with the dealer so that when your engine/major component needs to be replaced just as the warranty ends, they will extend goodwill to you and fix it at a discount. Second to get any software updates that may have been made since your car left the factory.
