Issues after Cruise Control and OBC mod.

I have a 2000 Boxster S that I just modded for cruise and OBC. Those two function work great.

I added a 4 stalk thingy and and replaced the the spring thingy between the column and wheel (technical term of course!)

Now I have an airbag light and no blinkers.

Any thoughts? Does the air bag need to be reset in the computer once disconnected? I suspect the spring thingy may be bad if not...

It is a new blinker switch so I am not sure whats going on there. Before I tear it all apart, I just thought I would ask if anyone has idea.

Thanks.

the airbag light could be if you connected the battery while the airbag was disconnected. the cure for that is to reset the airbag light with a Durametric or Porsche tool. sux if you dont have a friend with one as the dealer or Porsche specialist will charge you an hour labor for what literally takes them 5 minutes.

Ok, I have solved the blinkers, it was the hazard switch. I had a spare.

I did indeed plug and unplug the battery without the airbag plugged in.

I do have a Durametric Pro so resetting the air bag should no problem!

Thanks so much, this forum has been very useful!

If you throw in the Durametric, bad hazard switch, 4 stack switch etc it was about $1200.00
The Durametric pro was about $850.00 but well worth it. I did the work myself so there was no labor.

I took it for a night run down the california coast last night and the cruise control really helped keep it as reasonable speed. I also got about 21 mpg. If it saves one or two tickets it pays for itself!
