Boxster not starting after battery change.

Seems that there are a lot of issues from changing battery in 2000 and newer Boxsters.

Thought I'd ask why this is occurring, and perhaps suggest what is absolutely necessary

on my 7 series Beemer. When changing the battery you simply hook up a trickle charger

to maintain voltage to the computers. If you don't do this the car goes into lockdown

and will have to be towed to the dealer. My boxster is 98 so not necessary, but isn't this

normal procedure on later models?
