			Ouch I've seen that one before. I think there may be a breakdown of it on here somewhere. I also think I saw another view of it from a following car but I can't seem to find it now. 			Lesson learned. If you go off track just go straight until you slow down before reentering the track. That's was nasty.

Definitely! I only do motorcycle track days, and the last thing you would ever do if off in the dirt is try to turn before you've slowed down (unless you were on a dirt bike   ).

I have never done a car trackday and wondered how the Box would do in a rollover at the track.  I guess I have one example of how it would do now!

you can run with it up or down, your choice. some drivers chose to have it up for aerodynamics. i prefer down for visibility and the pure driving pleasure of having the top down

			I ran with one group that required me to have it down, they said they saw one come off one time... Next time I ran at that track (The FIRM in FL) with a different group they required me to have it up... 
 
Most other groups require up, some will let you run with it down if you have arm restraints.

			A Boxster in inherently unlikely to roll over. It has a low center of gravity and a great suspension 
It takes hitting a berm or curb or something sideways to induce a rollover 
 
Top should be up.  
It keeps your body parts in the car

			Agreed - he should have let the car run off track left and gathered it back slowly.  Stuff happens at the track.  This is why my track car has a full cage, and I wear a HANS.  I also think you should only track a car you can afford to write off.

No, thankfully that was not me.

If its a metal one, it will add some protection. 
 
The factory roll bars are pretty good unless you are very tall and the top of your helmet is above the roll bars. 
You can always add a roll bar extension for extra protection and is required generally if you have some performance mods. its a good idea in any case
