Sumitomo HTR ZIII Tires.. The Bomb!

My 2001 Boxster S just turned 80K miles and for it's birthday, I put two of these on the rear, paid $330 out the door and couldn't be happier. I still have the fronts which are Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's and the rears had 14K miles on them and were down to the wear bars. I find NO difference in handling with the HTR ZIII, they look great and in fact are challenging to tell the difference in the tread pattern as well.

So if anyone is contemplating getting these I highly recommend them especially for the money!

Cheers!

And, BTW, my 2001 S just turned over 80k miles as well.

They are the street tires for mine and I love them. I have taken them to 2 track days and a few autocrosses as well.

Lotta bang for the $$ in a summer tire. Over time mine would develop a flat spot if the car sat for a week and it would take several miles to smooth out but these are less than 1/2 price for a full set of N rated tires. Hard to beat on a daily driver.

+1
They came with the car @52k miles. I replaced rears @75k. Fronts still in good shape, probably spring 2016, somewhere around 80k then so that's 23k on rears and potentially 28k on fronts
I haven't tracked so these are real world miles
I feel they perform very good in the wet as well.
I drive them year round and the only issue I have in the cold is some vibration until they warm up but never lose of traction ( I do not push in extreme cold). I've driven in snow with them - Not advisable

Ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I've run HTR ZIII's for seven years now and love them, as does everyone else who buys them. If word gets out, and those guys who feel cool dumping $1K for new tires find out, we may see the price of our Sumi's going up. So, let's keep the secret, okay?

I just bought my new Carrera lights 18" with these tires on them. Fronts look new, rears appear to have 3/4 tread remaining. This thread is making me happy with my purchase.

Can't beat these tires for the money. My wife set 4 Land Speed Records on these tires.
