Track arms TRW

Is it me or is it hard to find the TRW line up of track arms and control arms in stock anywhere? Out of stock at pelican and other vendors and I am going to need these parts sooner than later. Anyone else in this predicament?

Are the TRW arms better quality than what came on the cars 13 - 15 years ago ? Based on the forum it seems like the clunking on some cars happens as early as 40,000 miles and up. Are we to expect the TRW arms of today to last longer ? I need to replace mine on my 02 S .

After reading up on here about the TRW arms, it's seems that it's the better way to go over anything else. As for longevity, I have no idea. My '02 base has 140,000 on it and I believe it all to be original. So I am also looking to replace these parts, although a little here and a little there. Funds are tight with a 5 month old baby so I'm trying to be gentle on the wallet. I am entertaining the thought of the polyurethane ones that vertex sells. I don't track the car, it's a nice weather car that does not get more than about 5,000 miles per year, so I'm still researching it. I think it's going to come down to whichever costs me less out of pocket. Any other thoughts on this topic are greatly appreciated!

I assume if they changed/improved it, they would have a different part number for it. I'll find out if my old arms have the same part number as the new ones once I install them, and probably can answer your question then.

From my research, many people recommend getting the 987 arms, but no one explains why they are better than the 986 arms. They do cost more from what I've seen, though.

They have several catalogs
It took me 5-6 month until some TRW stock appeared. I ordered 2 from ********************************************, they ended up only have 1 in stock and the other on back order. I found the above site had 1 TRW in stock so I was finally able to get the (2) I needed to do the front.
The Original Porsche TRW control Arms $350-$450 are in stock all over, but the same TRW part $180-$200, hard to find

I had put a thread out there before that it is becoming increasingly harder to get OEM parts at reasonable $$$
