Wear hole in top?

Looks like one of the fold spots in the top is about to become a hole. What's the best way to seal this before it become a tear

I had some of the stitching come apart at the top corners of the glass window on my 01. I used E6000 adhesive (black) to repair it and it has held together well.
The adhesive remains flexible, resists water and solvents, is self-leveling, and has a strong bond. I would use it on the inside of the worn area to bond a similar small piece of cloth as reinforcement. ...or just a good contact adhesive.

He won't be able to get to the inside because the 2003 tops have a liner. I'd try a thin layer of black Shoe Goo.
