Got the Heebie-jeebies in my car today.
Driving into work today, I'm a couple of blocks from my house, when a giant palmetto cockroach (you know, the flying kind) crawls out from under the passenger seat. Think this:
Then it goes back under the seat. Now there is no way in hell I'm driving all the way to work with this thing in my car (How did it get into my car?). I pull over to try to shoo it out. Nothing. So, I turn around and go back home for some bug spray. I open the passenger door, spray a little under the seat, he moves to where the seat belt is anchored. I move the seat back forward and spray right on him. He scurries up the side (I think I screamed like a little girl at that point... I know if any of my neighbors were watching, it would have been a funny show), falls out the door, and scurries toward my house, with me spraying him all the way (there was no way I was going to let him get to my house either). He finally died about 6 inches from the house.
This is my "ick" story of the day. I'm about ready to bug-bomb my car.
Have a Great rest of your day.

Don't worry their bite is not usually fatal.

Shoot, a little thing like that? In Texas I either saddle 'em up, or teach 'em to drive me to work.

This thing was the size of an animal you'd skin to make that saddle.

That oddly seems quite appetizing. With a little crunch, it would be like peppermint bark or pretzel bark.

You actually sprayed bug spray in your car??
Pardon me for sayin' this, but that sounds like a REALLY bad idea.
How long you suppose that odor will stick around? A bit longer than the cockroach would have I'd bet?

I like his final line "have a great rest of your day" since I'm totally creep-ed out!

Oh, please. This made me laugh.
You haven't lived until one lands in your hair. Welcome to the South!
You know they travel in pairs, don't you?

I keep a .410 for the big ones. Makes it easier to take them on the wing, and damage to the meat is minimal.
They go well with a nice cold glass of bagged milk.

Imagine a couple of those in your KITCHEN and you walk in to get a glass of water in the dark and step on one!
Welcome to my world. We have an exterminator contract and here in Houston, the tree roaches will still flock in through tiny cracks to get to water if it's really dry outside.
Upside is my golden retrievers like to night hunt for them and crunch crunch crunch when they catch one.

My condo has the quilted Berber(sp?) carpet thing going on and if one happens to race from the tiled area to this carpet, they look like they are break dancing.

I recommend changing your eating habits. No food in the car. Or, is your car floor wet? Here in Texas these guys love coming in the house for water when it is really dry out.
