				Mobil 1 Funny Thing

So, watching NASCAR practice this morning and the #11 Denny Hamlin car spun.
That's a Joe Gibbs car.

On the front fender, both sides, is a Mobil 1 decal.

Surely they're not cheating and using Joe Gibbs oil anyway? Enquiring minds would like to know!

Because Mobil 1 pays them money, they run their decals.................but not their oil. A very common occurrence in racing.

Not at all; you are being paid to advertise the product, not use it, so you have violated no laws. A lot of the Porsche race cars you see with Mobil 1 decals on them do not have their oil in the dry sump tanks; it is pure advertising.......

Back when I still raced, the car was covered with decals for advertising and contingency dollars, and very few of the product's were actually in the cars. It is all about $.
