If he drops his reserve you might be stuck with buying it :)

I threw a low bid on a semi-solid motor mount one time and ended up being the only bidder on it (I think it may have been someone on here selling it). Then I read the reviews and decided I wanted to keep my teeth from rattling out so it is sitting down in the garage...

RedTele58 06-04-2015 06:23 AM

I like the $32,000 Buy It Now option.

I'm sure it won't last long at that price!

tommy583 06-04-2015 06:57 AM

Ninja style

Oh, I'm prepared to go $300 even if I have to.

mikefocke 06-04-2015 08:50 AM

Gotta admire optimism.

mountainman 06-04-2015 09:09 AM

I can buy the rare aspect, But maybe just a tad overpriced? It's a shame I have my garage space maxed out. I can"t even make an offer.

Perfectlap 06-04-2015 09:17 AM

well... that's not a GT3 'body package'. In fact nothing on the car is GT3 for 2001.

I fear that this is false advertising...

But to be fair, this far from being the worst Ninja Boxter to date.

Common man...this would be WAY better than the Macan!!! :D

Porsche9 06-04-2015 10:56 AM

Had no idea Porsche made a GT3 with a 2.7l.

Someone is very impressed with their Boxster with body kit. I especially love the fast and furious driving lights.

BIGJake111 06-04-2015 11:00 AM

I love that the ones really done up like this are always tip ;).

What brand? I might be interested in helping you clear some garage space.

I'll be honest with you, I'm not a fan of the 987s looks. The interior looks more dated then the 986 and the side intakes look cheap now that the 981 is out.

The 987 looks like a cheap luxury car mixed with a cheap Ferrari, while the 986 just looks like a bare bones sports car with retro styling, definitely looks cheap in places, but it doesn't feel like it's trying as hard as the 987. 987 is a bit more Beverly Hills too clean. The 986 is more of a slut.

Perfectlap 06-04-2015 02:30 PM

^I prefer the 986, but the 987 rear end is much nicer. The front end that struck me as too Japanese looking for me has grown on me a bit. I still like the GT1 fried egg lights better, provided they have the Particle Wave/Nine8Six re-do with the black housing. Part of me thinks the 987 for the money, is going to age a lot better than a stock looking 986 with small wheels, no aero and bare bones interior. That's not how the brilliant designers intended it to look when the concept car was unveiled.
Which by the way you should see in the latest issue of Excellence Magazine. They have a fantastic two page photo of the concept car that is frame-worthy. According to the article the car was initially called the Porsche Spyder which later became the "Boxster" once the marketing guys got involved. Butzi Porsche apparently kept trying to water down the design so that it would look more like the 964/993 and not look so cutting edge in comparison.

thstone 06-04-2015 04:31 PM

SHEEPSKIN SEAT COVERS!!! Worth every dime of that $32K Buy It Now price.

doctorm3 06-04-2015 04:55 PM

It runs like a Porsche!!! Let the bidding war begin:dance:

False. You clearly haven't spent any time in the 987. It's just as sweet as the 986. Frankly, a Boxster is a Boxster - they all drive and handle amazing.

You are practicing the ultimate in Porsche snobbery.

I never said it drives bad. All things stated are purely cosmetic opinions. Same as if I think guards red is better or carrera white. It's my opinion and others have theirs. Purely cosmetic.

944 guys are poor and live in trailers. ;)

But that's ok since they're not real Porsches.

HEY! Not true! This one wasn't in a trailer court!

It just needed dusting off when I found it - nothing wrong with it at all. Well - it did have some cat prints on the top...

jrblackman 06-05-2015 09:37 AM

Gt3

Definitely the nicest Boxster GT3 with orange interior lighting I have ever seen. Don't overlook the selling points that it has also been in a minor accident and had four owners. So many pluses.

Wait a minute... he called the 986 a slut and said the 987 was Beverly Hills chick.

Who are you hanging out with lately Giller??!!:D

It's good that you love the 986 since that's what you have. I sure hope we all love what we have. I used to love the 986 - untill I drove a 987. Once I bought the 987 I gave my 02S to my son and he uses it as a daily driver.

I'm sure if I buy a 981 I will likely not care for the 987 anymore.

Well not a 100% true. I lived in a mobile home 35 yrs ago when I was Pvt in the Army.

As far as not real Porsche, well I'm used to this now since I've heard it for 20+ yrs of owning 944 turbo S. what's funny is I've blown away a lot of 911's with this car specially when they gave me a thumbs down but that's not important. What's important is we're happy and satisfied with what we have.

You know I've called 996's the bastard of 911's before. This is typically my response to them when they insult any of my cars. My reason or this is ealy 996 are only 911 from behind the driver seat. The front half is the same car as a 986. Seems like Porsche didn't know if they wanted to produce a 986 or a 996.

Burg Boxster 06-05-2015 10:16 AM

I've been outbid...

Shucks...

;)

Meanwhile, this guy can probably hardly contain himself with a couple hundred of us watching his auction :D

^ too obscure for a meme: You need to A) be fluent in more than one language (eliminates 90% of the population) and B) need to have premium cable TV (may not exist in 10 years) and if you satisfy both A and B, you need to be C) a fan of a particular show about fire breathing dragons, kights, zombies and other nerdy stuff. Oh and D) you need to watch said show from the beginning to even get the joke.

I think it perfectly represents BigJakeSpeak. Or did you miss my "metaphorical meme"?

Oh yeah, you do know the show is based on BOOKS, yes? Couldn't you just read the books, too? Having read them, I do understand the challenge as they are longer that they average Shade of Gray.

Then, A) you should have referenced the books, in addition to the shows. B) considered that the internet could have done the translation, thus most people, if interested, should be able to interpret the meme, C) Go knock on R.R's freakin door and tell him to stop commenting about the 5 characters he'd like to see in the show and finish the next damn book, and finally, D) Hodor.

Perfectlap 06-05-2015 11:19 AM

I don't read the books.

I think they are really good and the show is currently diverging big time. Admittedly, the shows portray Ramsey to be a big softy.
