You don't get the pump going on or you don't get power with the wires jumped ? If the pump does not go on with the wires jumped, an you get power to the pump, it means you have a bad pump. But if you dont get power to the pump that is a different issue.

OK. With a very well made jumper, I jumped out 30 & 87 on the relay, left two slots, one standard and one very skinny. M
There is no voltage to the FP with that jumped out. Zero.
I'll follow DME component testing in Bentley manual.

Have you double checked the fuse?

One other comment. I drained my tank by unplugging the QD at the firewall and jumping the relay, point being that should make the pump run.

ok hopefully you got the wrong two spots you are jumping.
This is the fuel relay on mine...
This is the relay wires that are jumped...
And this is the two slots that you actually jump with a jumper wire to get the pump to operate ...

On mine, 30 & 87 are the edge slots, or the other two. It's also depicted that way on the schematic on the back. I'll look at the numbers on the face. I sure hope I got it wrong too, friends.
As for the fuse, I can assure you it was checked!

I think you have the wrong relay as pelican shows this...
Your car is one of those right?
If it is then we use the same relay. And if we use the same relay then 30 and 87 are these...
And looking at the fuse box it would be one standing up and one laid down in the middle of the square and at the bottom of it....
like this...

So I put on my big-boy reading glasses. You are absolutely correct. As soon as I jump those proper terminals, the lights dim a bit and I hear a thunk and get a spark from an electrical load. With that jumped there's no fuel at the shrader on the fuel rail.
Hello FP.

Hello FP.

Do you hear the mellow sound of the pump whirring away? It was dead obvious when I drained my tank. No thunk.

Nope. A single thunk every time I apply power, and cabin lights dim, and quite a spark, and zero fuel in rail.

well pull the covers off the battery...
pull the battery...
The tray...
and there is your tank cover...
put a jumper on the battery terminals...
one of these two is the fuel line pinch and pull at the tab, revealing the barb, hook a hose to it and jump the relay again, fuel should come out if not bad fuel pump ur no power at the pump.

Unplug the connector at the top of the tank and with the jumper in the relay socket check for power and ground at connector

I am determined to do these fixes. Without the help of this website I would not be driving my Porsche on this sunny day. Many thanks to all. Too many fixes to list here. I'll update another thread with pics. Hope to inspire someone else to do their clutch and IMS and this stuff.

Correct. Fuel pump and it fired up instantly, no puff of smoke or stutter or anything. Runs very smooth with new IMS. Much quieter with my welded flanges and not those clamps.

Now that's a nice sight. Glad you got it worked out. Never seen those wheels before, what did they come from?
