insite, would that be 109 octane race fuel?

and how did you burn so much of it in less than 100 miles? Were you driving 145 mph the whole time?

Alright guys, just got back from Washington DC.

We had a good trip. 750 miles in 11 hours each way.

A little disappointed with the MPG though :

1st tank - 22 mpg
2nd tank - 24 mpg
3rd tank - 23 mpg
4th tank - 23 mpg
5th tank - 22 mpg

Not as good as I expected. I average 21 mpg going to work and back.

Cruise was set at 80 mph, AC on, fully loaded ( me, wife, luggage )

This is in a 99 2.5 with 50k miles on the odo.

Anything I should take a look at ?

Thanks,

Nick

Nick,

Did you reset the OBC at each fill-up? Your mileage seems low to me. Ellen just got 27.9 making that trip to West Virginia and back. If you're not resetting, your mileage is being averaged with all your previous driving.

Hey Griz !

Yeah, I thought that was low too...

No OBC on my 99. I was just dividing miles driven / gallons purchased.

Car runs like a champ though. Any ideas ?

Nick

Let your wife drive, maybe?

Seriously, I'd put a tune-up on it and change the air filter if you haven't done it lately. I think you should be doing a little better than 22-24 mpg highway.
