GT3 RS Replica Wheels

When the time comes to get new tires, I want to upgrade to 18 inch wheels. I love the 996 and 997.1 GT3 RS wheels and found these replicas for the 986 Boxster. They're replica 18's as the original wheels are 19's. What do you guys think? Too cheap? Prone to cracking, too heavy? Never had replica wheels before so any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've ran replica wheels before on my DD but never the Porsche. From experience, I can tell you they weren't that bad at all. Didn't have them crack or bend and I took pretty good care of them.

I have a set of those I bought from Eckler's still in the box waiting to be put on one of my cars. They look great. Finish is fine. Not heavy. Worth every penny.

OKL those are in fact the lightest Porsche wheels on the market atm. They are everywhere flashing on the aftermarket wheel websites and shops locally. I actually love the black version of those.

DOT is cracking down badly on aftermarket wheels here recently so the price is nearly half of what you are paying the states . Needless to add that I need to borrow my mate's Cayman wheels each year to pass annual inspection :/

RE rigidity, well they are cast wheels. Perfect for normal operation if you ask me but don't expect that they have been xrayed, QCed nor visually inspected before being passed on to you. Based on luck mate

That said, if you have a family, I'd say pass brother

Get an aftermarket wheel from a specialized wheel manufacturer. Saying that... mine are so brittle (forged aluminum) something tells me that the cast wheels you are looking at now are far superior rigidity-wise lollll

i ran them for years without issues....iirc they're not that heavy. Rears were 24?25?lbs

you'll need a 15mm or so spacer for the rears

You'll be picking a long time. And this is just SOME of the little stuff. Big stuff (aerokit pieces, hard tops, speedster humps, more wheels, etc) is at the shop.

No need for years to figure out those are often fine wheels. The wheels proshops here tells you "if they don't fail during the first hard-braking and accel, they are good for life basically". Just needs a visual inspection when let's say changing your tires once and every 2-3 years. That's the "pro" advice locally lollll

I had them when they first came out and put a good 30k miles or so on them. actually found an old pic
