DVD Nav LCD screen location?

I'm half-heartedly thinking of getting a double-DIN DVD NAV unit for my 01 2.7L. A double-DIN unit would have the LCD fixed vertically as opposed to units like the Pioneer AVIC-N1 (or N2, N3) that sliides its LCD out and then flips it up.

I'm curious to those who have DVD NAV LCD screens in their Boxster what sort of effect sunlight (even light from cloudy days) from having the top down would do to the viewabilty of the LCD screen.

Can you read it? Or is it washed out?
