P/4 tip light flahes

have a tiptronic with indicator light flashing from whatever gear its in to 4.
Only does this if engine is running.
fluid is good, no codes/cel's, gear switch will make proper light display even when disconnected from shift cable and moved by hand.
car acts normal as long as in automatic, no manual mode available.
Am stumped and looking for advice on where to go next!
Please bring all suggestions- thanks in advance!

Did you search for codes using a Durametric or other Porsche specific tool?

not a porsche specific tool. an AX 6000- which has pulled some codes before, but nothing on this one.
have begun reading up on one of the porsche specific.
is the durametric capable of pulling transmission code?
Also, it seems like the durametric is a cable and a download for free program??
any idea where best to buy from is for that tool reader??
I see things at 290 bucks, and then advertised for 100 bucks , and all say durametric..

You can either buy the official Durametric cable (new or used) or buy a chinese imitation.
I bought the original one, nice plastic case, nice user's manual... I recommend!
Try to find a used one, maybe?

I bought mine from Durametric.
You can contact them and ask if they have a used one (sometimes people send theirs back).
Or you can post an ad in the dedicated section, maybe someone has to sell?
