Frustration ...

hey guys,

I've been loving my 04 986S like there is no tomorrow. I got pissed tonight though because I only use the handbrake where I park, there is never a need to have the 1st gear on because I never park on hills etc.

Well today I did have to park on a hill and I did engage the first gear before shutting down the engine. When I had to leave I turn on the engine but I am used to disengage the clutch and the car did a huge crunk noise and went a bit front and stalled but it was really loud and hard.

Very annoying and I Hope I did not damage anything.

No damage would have been. You're not the first guy to have jerked forward accidentally like that. [I'm being sarcastic: EVERYONE'S done that at one point or another.]

You can rest assured that ALOT of us have killed the engine pulling out uphill. I haven't in my Boxster, but I havent pulled out on a hill before. I have done it on other manuals rest assured. Its just embarrasing thats all.

blinkwatt and Rail I have stalled both on a date and in the Box...one was embaressing and the other was devastating! At 59 years of age I'm sure you can guess which is which!

I have stalled mine 4 times since I got it (Purchased Feb 2006). The last time I did it I was turning down a street and a few people were around so I drifted to the side of the street and pretended I was parking!

Sort of like when a cat crashes into something and walks away with the look, "I meant to do that!"
