Ok so I just received my replacement tank to replace the defective one I got the first time around. Oh joy I get to do this job twice.

I was wondering if anyone know a way to test the tank for air leaks before installing it?

I did this same thing. I purchased one from Amazon that did not work. I had tons of vapor off of it and the coolant kept boiling over. I finally broke down and ordered a genuine Porsche one from Suncoast that provides a warranty on parts.

I received a replacement tank from the company at no charge but I am wondering if I will have the same issue. I really don't want to do this job again.

Do you know what the problem was with the first tank? Was there a crack or other discernible defect?
You could put test caps on the nipples and pressure the new tank to 15 lbs, or vacuum the tank to 25 lbs with the airlift) to test for leaks before you install it.

But from the threads I have read is high on the "I need a third and fourth miniature hand" to do I would not want to do it over to save some money. I will buy a genuine Porsche from Pelican when I do mine. THere was a recent thread about someone who cut the time down to two hours by destroying the tank as he removed it

There was a small defect where the the plastic was molded together right near the over flow tube. The company sent me a new tank and I installed it last night. I am getting pretty good at it took me only an hour and a half to install. There is a leak from the new tank as well but this time coming from the valve I suspect. I will have to check the o rings tonight.
