Seems to me that the Spyder is the car to have for the track for weekend DE warrior. Other than safety for a taller driver, I don't see how the coupe variant is a better performer than the roadster variant. The Spyder will afford you more experimenting with the racing line (more grip everywhere) and maybe more importantly, will be easier to keep on that line than the Cayman GT4 with that extra weight on the part of the car you want it least. My guess is that the 981 Spyder will simply the more toss able car of the two. You can tweak the suspension and go for the lighter wheels, stickier tires in the aftermarket to whittle the GT3 parts advantage to some degree. And I imagine some weight shavings has been undertaken over a standard GTS or S variant, so just gravy on that end

if 320 HP on the 987 Spyder is a 1:41 at Laguna Seca, what is 375 HP with a wider front plant going to register?
