I can't comment much on the pdk, as I mostly drive in auto (and in 2 years of 981 ownership, am and at 4000 miles) and don't push it as much as the avid enthusiast. When I had the 911s, that car had significantly more power than the 987, so I didn't feel much need to push that one either. Maybe when the kids are older and off doing Jake-like things... I'll consider it with the 981 :ah: [edit] strike that last comment. When I was Jake's age, I had jobs. My kids will too. And 20s be expensive! ;) |

Some say, that would be do to age and experience. But people older than me still do questionable things... right Mr. Clarkson?:p |

Yah! You are listening! And yes, I do make mistakes and sometimes I don't get to correcting, though I try. You'll understand if/when you have kids, and typing on the computer becomes the third or forth thing you do at once. And you develop a sense for the spoken/written word. But I digress. I did err. It is a shame you still stated this, though. I wasn't going to comment, but since you are paying attention, this is really not a proper sentence. Minimally, I'd suggest you have two independent clauses and could benefit from a ";": Quote:
In addition, I do have to say, I was a little dumbfounded by this post: Quote:

Hi Boss,
At some point in your life, you or someone you know has probably taken a sleeping pill. Perhaps it was an OTC sleep aid or maybe you even have a prescription for something more potent. But according to new research, released by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, those prescription meds may be more dangerous than you think.

[edit] Well, after trying to view Marveen's address, there is something that is Porsche related: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.739956,-74.007174,3a,75y,104.31h,77.14t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sv6bKXBu5qhI8lxtUhPMdOA!2e0 Hey! Marveen! That's not a Boxster in the Street view! You should try 6speedonline! I'd suggest the 1st gen 997 forum. |
Wow where did this thread end up going?
|
On a side note. When I get the RPM's up to 5,500 to 6,000 and dump the clutch while drag racing a Corvette  I sometimes chirp the tires.

Right here, big boy ;)
I've got a special treat for you. Wait for it...are you still waiting? You should hold your breath, too. |
Drive it like you stole it!

Did a visual check on the cv joints while changing the plugs and coils. All "looked" good, but I never checked the bolts.
Yay! I get to go back under the car. |

Last fall I had a guy in a bright orange Challenger weave around traffic to get next to me at a light. I saw a cop a block up, so of course I had to give him a few blips of the throttle. Mr. Charger responded, the red mist of being able to let loose the Hemi on a "Porsch" apparently clouding his view of the cop, telling me that he had a nice exhaust on that Hemi. Sounds good! When the light turned green Mr. Charger cut a great light and hooked right up, taking the Hemi right up to redline. Yup, it is fast. Me, I casually pulled away from the light and watched as Mr. Hemi FINALLY noticed the cop, freaked out, and slammed on the brakes to the point of stopping in the middle of the street right in front of the cop. I waved to him and the cop as I passed by; doing the speed limit (30mph) of course. I should have turned around to see if the cop actually pulled him over (the cop may have been laughing as hard as I was) but I had somewhere to go. I felt a little bad for him. Not too bad though... |
The most fun making tires bark etc was on the Porsche Performance Driving School.
After that it was the Autocrosses. The engine growl on public streets is much nicer than tire bark anyway, to the point where barking seems a bit tacky and juvenile in a Porsche. I drive to please only myself and what the reving Hondas, Dodgers and Mustangs do is of no consequence to me even when they are on the verge of losing control in the twisties trying to keep up. It is entertaining as it only takes a few revs with the aftermarket muffler to arouse the testosterone all around me in the other cars and watch as Hybrids, Hondas and inbreds let it rip in a frenzied dash to the next red light. Its great being a Porsche owner/driver |
