Consistent top down an issue?

Until recently I alway put the top up on my boxster once done with it for the day. But for the past week we have had great weather and I have left the top down for about a week as the car sits in the garage. Bad idea? Is it bad to keep the top down for long periods of time?

Don't know if it's bad, but I do it. We were talking somewhere here a while back that it seems to keep a slight bend in the plastic, which means no need for the Boxster chop!

I don't see why it would if the hardware is in good condition. Boxsters with hardtops have their canvas stowed for long timeframes.

If you have the plastic window do not raise or lower your top if the temperature is cold, you run the risk of cracking the window.

Mine stays down most of the time. The top has ended up with some wear marks in the spots where the bends are. But on the up side the color stays more protected. Not sure if there is a perfect answer here. But I prefer to leave it down. I live in a very safe town and I don't keep anything in the car so I literally leave the top down in the parking lot at work, the gym, stores etc.
