Traded it for a silver 2008 convertible Mustang. Then traded that for a 2012 convertible Mustang. Then traded that for a 2012 Edge Sport.

What do you get when you cross a Tiburon with a Mustang? A silver convertible Boxster. Yes, I fancied all aligned on that deal.

To clarify, I wasn't dissing the Tiburon, I don't know anything about them. I actually like the looks of the current Hyundai SUVs and the Genesis line. It just seems like they put a lot of money and effort into making that Tiburon look like a Ferrari.

Picked up a nice set of 18in turbo twist wheels in Boxster fitment this morning just because.

Anyone need some wheels? haha

I want to buy this one just to replace the tail lights

I'm sure someone likes it, but the tint with the red just doesn't look right to me. ...or at least de-amber the headlights too.

Black out the third brake light... black that pipe... dusty black the wheels... limo tint the windows.

I like the blacked out side markers.

That black works very well with the red.

And, yes, de-amber the fronts.

But the bigger issue here - Is this today's market correct price?

I'd say the price is not incorrect....I passed on a 2003 Box S Tip with105K last spring for $4,800. Ran and drove great and A/C was cold...dirty as heck and at a minimum needed maintenance brought up to date. Just didn't feel like screwing with it at the time. As usual, as soon as it was sold if seconded guessed myself. Part of my passing was that I knew other opportunities would come up.

There's LOTS of them!

deathsled986 12-05-2017 06:25 AM

That is a hell of a price. I would snatch it up just to resell provided it doesn't have some hidden problems.

I would say that's a good price around here. The only one's I see cheaper have issues.

Interesting, it is a 2003, yet it has headlights and wheels from an earlier year Boxster, and seats from a 987/997. I wonder what else has been cobbled up in the car to keep it going that isn't easily seen.

Oh. I wasn't suggesting you were dissing the Tib. Not at all. All good.

Purchased 2 tibs that evening. Wife wanted the silver GT. I took it for a test drive, and loved it. Lots of torque steer, however. I never took measures to address that. Started walking to the finance office... saw the yellow SE on the floor... sold. Debadged both of them... purchased the Korean emblems, Tuscani... Elise... and what not. Real head turners. I digress.

The Genesis looks quite grown up. Sophisticated.

Probably repaired by a non-Porsche enthusiast who doesn't know the difference between an 03, 01, and 05 Boxster. Looking at that one pic of the front bumper, it appears the paint is cracking. Probably needed a bumper and headlights that were pulled from a 986.1. The tail lights are 986.2.

Did you notice the discrepancy with the VIN? Looks like they left a digit off in their verbiage. Not a smart idea.

Could this be a Wheeler Dealer tiptronic low on fluid? For that price, would be worth the chance.

Tom's probably high-tailing it out to Palm Dessert right now to grab that 2.7.

I’d bet it’s a theft recovery tossed back together with whatever could be found.

It looks like they got the add right in your area but got it mixed up with another scam add in mine. There's probably an add out there for a 69 Camaro with a 2.7 porsche boxster motor in it. lol

Sheesh that car gets around more than a girl we nicknamed "mattress" back in college :D
