				Snow:(

Not a Boxster kind of day it was 80 and sunny 3 weeks ago. Steering out of a massive slide sure wakes you up in the morning. |

Yeah. Just booked a rental car for the next few days down here, the Michelin Pilot super sports would not fare well.Maybe next year I'll get a winter set of wheels/tires.

I was just outside and was debating on finding a nice big open lot to have some fun in. I miss snow days from when I had my Subaru's but todays are the days I need to get a Jeep. My wife is pregnant now so I am going to have m FIL (he just bought a jeep) drive me to her work to drive her home.

Ha! You'll probably really laugh at us for this - DFW about shut down last night because it was likely to ice. My wife and I had a babysitter, so we were out for the night. Went to get dinner at 8:30 - "Ooh, sorry, we're closing early because of the weather, you just missed last call." Same story all over (Arlington Highlands area), ended up eating at a Whataburger. Classy!

I miss driving in the snow! Fish tails around the corners (oops!) and power sliding through parking lots! Don't miss the cold though.

Here was my path to help a friend out...Northern Illinois and not fun with temps reaching minus 30 degrees F! Bad enough I had to clear my own drive.

By the end of the day we had 5 inches.
That's a blizzard around here.
And year after year, many still drive as if they've never seen snow before.

I agree, Oklahoman's are the worst inclement weather drivers.

King of the Hill - Snow Job - YouTube
I love how whenever the weathermen (who are wrong 80% of the time anyway) even mention a dusting of snow, people rush the stores knocking each other over to grab all the shovels, blankets, salt, batteries, lanterns, and canned goods they can get their hands on.

And 99% of those in the ditch are on all seasons instead of being on winters.

Even my commuter bike tires are winter only. I cut through snow and ice like a hot knife through butter. 5 degrees this morning!

We do not get enough snow here in Oklahoma to warrant a dedicated winter set of tires. I am on summer tires and I was fine yesterday. It is just driving within your capabilities and not over doing it. Just be smart.

I'm not sure what the weather is like in Oklahoma but even if you don't get snow if you have temps consistently below 40 degrees you can benefit from winter tires.

Oh I agree I we had weather to that extreme. Seriously our winters are not that bad. The wind chill makes it colder than anything. Literally a couple weekends ago it was 80 degrees and it is normal for it to do that every winter. On average we might have two weeks of constant weather being less than 40 degrees, with only a couple day of snow/ice

That's not too bad. We get snow 5 months out of the year up here. I sit and stare at my S, telling it stories of better days. :ah:

I had the same debate with one of my Subaru friends about buying blizzacks here. If we had more snow on average i would totally have a winter set of wheels.
