How much does an engine weigh?

I thought this would have come up before, so I searched for "engine weight" "eninge weigh" "engine pounds" and others, maybe my search technique needs some work, but I came up with nothing.

Looking to ship some engines, 2.7 and 3.2, and I have no idea what they weigh. Can anyone help?

Thanks, Joe

That is going to depend upon how the engine is equipped, but you would be safe using 450 lbs.

Shipping classification?

Thanks for the information. I don't suppose you know the National Motor Freight Classification. There are 18 different freight classifications ranging from Class 50 to 500.

The motor is on a pallet. Oil, coolant, and fuel drained, but a drip here and there.

Google is your friend. This site got me pointed in the right direction

NMFC Freight Class Code Lists

That list would imply Class 70
