If the expansion tank was an easy fit, I would take a chance on the non Porsche unit - but taking into account the time and energy that goes into the fitting process, I would choose the genuine article every time....

It`s always a toss up. My first (genuine Porsche) tank lasted about 13 years. An aftermarket (inferior? maybe) unit may only last 6, or not. It took me a few hours to change the part. Okay, I'm an artist, not a neurosurgeon. I don't make $100/hour. There's always a s*load of parts to change on these cars. It's a plastic bottle. Were I to do it again (God forbid) I know what I would choose.
But that's me.
BTW, it's not fun, changing the part, but it doesn't take more than a few hours.

Hey Newart where did you end up buying the tank? I also in Montreal and it's a pain to try to find that part in Canada. I usually use Rockauto or autopartsway but I don't really know anything about canadaparts online. I know they are based in California so it's not a Canadian website.
