Rolex 24 Discussion
The race will be starting soon! I am lucky enough to have a gal that is interested to share watching the race with for a fair amount of the next 24 hours. Making a thread here for all to discuss while we watch the Porsche factory team smoke some corvettes!

The Part that is upsetting is they are not televising any of the night racing from 10 PM until 7 AM. I have It all that I can get programed to record.

I think that they upload the full race to youtube not long after. I watch online to avoid commercials anyways on the Imsa website. Still great commentary as well as the option to view cameras from certain cars during the race!

The sad part is the P-cars don't have the speed this time around. I think their only hope of winning is for the other teams to make mistakes and outlast them. All three cars qualified last in GTLm. From what I've noticed from last years Sebring test Porsche teams came out on top in testing. No more than a day after testing IMSA was already looking at making the field more equal which they did. Qualifying for Sebring last year shows that Porsche teams were way behind all the other teams. They managed a win only because of their pit strategy.
Looks like they made rule changes and affected Porsche teams again.

I like to think (you know, in that dream world that I live in) that Porsche is sand-bagging (purposefully holding back what they really have until the race to avoid further "equalization"). At least it makes me feel better.

Looks like they were.
Nick Tandy just made a bonehead move. Hope he didn't damage anything.

I'll be watching as much as I can and following some of the overnight action (10pm-7am) on IMSA.com

The 912 porsche started from the pits for a good 14 minuets. I think we may need a miracle.

I noticed the right light is out on the 911 car. That might be interesting tonight.

Anyone else seeing jerky video on the live streaming? Makes it kind of hard to watch for more than 5-10 mins...

On my laptop it was like that but on my iPad it was great.
I couldn't believe what happened with the Porsches. I was shocked. 3 911's running strong at that time and then Bam........ I lost interest after that.
At least they won both classes in Continental Tire challenge. 911 won GS and Caymans were 1-2 in ST.

Sad to see Team Falken have a mechanical issue they were running a smart race with good pace. While the Porsche's in GTLM did not show qualifying pace they had good race pace. Mistakes happen in a 24 hour race the great teams have the ability to minimize those mistakes. Onto Sebring.

Lots of bad luck this race, I was really routing for 912, they did a great job of making up laps with cautions.
My eyes are on GTD now, not much fun in watching corvette race with no competition in GTLM.

By the end the race felt surreal, endurance racing seems to have that affect.
Maybe boxsters will be cheap enough to enter into. Lemons racing some day.
