Numbers in car names seems to be a better marketing gimmick
American cars
Boss 302
Z06
Z28
442

So after 718 will it be 719, 720, etc?
Fortunately for the 911, all the actual models 993,996,997, ect are still associated as a 911

At least Boxster lets you know what model Porsche it is
Marketing - go figure
