Is it my imagine or do our Boxster's ride and handle with the weight of a full tank of gas in the front? Mine seems less skittish in the steering and more solid feeling over the bumps. I'm tempted to add a bag of sand to the front boot.
I have been thinking the same thing. When the rear spoiler comes up on the freeway it makes the front end feel light. ( I had the same thing with a Miata and I put on the small factory front spoiler and it made it feel much more planted!)

When I first got my car I could feel the difference between full fuel and not. It passed. You could try modifying tire pressures to rid that 'skittish' feeling. May indicate your tires are old and not gripping as well in the colder temps.
Boxster alignments suggest a full fuel tank to be done correctly. Yes, I've also experienced the light front end feeling the first time on the drag strip when I went with a quarter tank to keep weight down. The car actually started to feel squirrely as I crossed the finish line.
I have never known of a car so noticeably different before and after fill up. Driving dynamics are very different. Personally I like the lighter weight feeling, while the heavier feel seems more fit for highway.
I didn't mean my front end feels skittish - it is just that the steering feels light. I like a heavy steering feel on freeways.
Do these cars have variable power steering? (2001, 2.7)
The vents I put in front of the hood helped steering feel at speed. I closed up the stock openings that exhausted air under the car. All of the air going through the center radiator goes out over the hood.
