I am serious - I have a lighter bank acct to prove it - and that is an ANNUAL fee. It goes down ea yr b/c it's based on the car's value, but I think this yr was $40 cheaper per car than last yr. I bought my Cayman on Dec 3, 2012 and I talked the seller into back dating the bill of sale to Nov because I bought my LE on NYE 07 and I didn't want them both coming due in Dec.

We don't have great roads in Neb and it doesn't incl the cost of any ins.

JMatta - if you give me a heads-up when you're thinking of moving here, I'll gladly remind you not to. We have high property taxes too.

Since the fee is based on a car's value, I would surmise this is a combination personal property tax/registration charge. If so, they've got you by the cajones. It was the same when I lived in New England.
