At the end of the day water-cooled cars are only worth their engines and second hand 3.4's just aren't that much more expensive than 2.7's or 3.2's.
+1 And just wait a few more years until we start seeing what were $100K Panamera's going for under $30K...

I'm sure your are right. My $78k 2003 E55 was worth $36k at 4 years old and at 8 years old I was lucky to get $18k. Like all highend cars, people that have the money want a new one and when they get a few years old they start costing $$$ to keep on the road. My E55 went through $16k of the extend warranty company's money. After the warranty was over the car had to go.

I still won't buy a Panamera at under $30k because I can't get over the how ugly the rear end is. Otherwise it's an awesome sedan.

Finally someone has the same feeling as I do about the Panamera. Great car from the inside, handles great but I just think it's butt ugly.

As for the 996 no offense to those who have them but for me the early model 99-01 I just don't care for them. In my eyes 911 should have clean muscular lines specially the rear fenders. The 996 just don't have it. Early 996 is basically half Boxster and half 911. They practically share the same front half of the car. However, the 996 TT 2002 and up is one I'm keeping an eye on. They are much more forgiving to modify. Prices for these are falling as well. Specially the 2001's.

I don't think TT prices are falling much though I have only been knowledgable on the topic since last January. 2001's sell for the least, but well maintained low mileage cars hold their values (in the 40's). The game is to try and find one that needs some work that you can get for a low price. It really depends the scope of the work and what the buyer is looking for in terms of condition.

I think the basic 996 is kind of bland but a 996 with aero and lowered with nice wheels are not too shabby in my book . set up correctly they can be a lot of fun to drive It also makes decent power even in todays standards .

I've seen 2001 with about 70k miles for 32k. 2002 and up are much more.but prices are low compared to other turbos.
