The UDPs aren't big enough to have a hole for setting TDC.

As to why not use a smaller pulley stock, our cars are the result of a number of comprises. Drivability, cost to produce, safety, place in the Porsche family, ad nauseum...

No, the belt will be a different length and you'll want to make a note of the correct size because you'll no longer be able to just order a belt for a boxster.

I never noticed that Pedro's pulley doesn't have a hole in it. Show stopper for me, since being able to lock the engine at TDC is more than just kind of handy.

Keep the old pulley for timing reasons. Several or most of the replacements require you trim the lug that the hole for the pin goes in as well.

The biggest reason is not for the daily driver guys. It for the track guys. The high rpm required on track overheat the pump and PS fluid. A smaller pulley means lower RPM on the PS pump lower operating temp on the PS fluid. I've wacked 2 pumps in 5 years of track driving.
