Miatas are good for what they are, but I think the BMW chassis allows more room to grow, and if you live in a region that doesn't have a good Spec Miata field, there really isn't much you can do with the car after you go beyond DE. Plus, if you are over 5'10", Miata's are really too small to be safe IMO.
