Lug Bolts

Hi guys

Does anyone know if these Volkswagen Lug Bolts would work on a 986? All the specs match up to those of a OEM bolt, except for the non swiveling ball seat. Does it have much effect on our car?

The swivelling collar (ball seat) is most important when using the Porsche style wheels to locate the wheel correctly and not scour into the wheel apature face.
I personally wouldn't use non swivelling bolts....

Do yourself a favor and get the proper lug bolts. Yes these cost more, but once you're holding them in your hand, you will know why.

I've been running studs and nuts for years, put a little lube on the face. There is no ill effect. The same would apply to the fixed bolt style

I have used the vw bolts as stated earlier, lubricate them and do not use a pneumatic impact, and you will be fine. you may find some minor galling on the clamped surface of the rim, but it will not cause a failure. as always, use a torque wrench when tightening your lugs.
