Custom License Plate order (not DMV)

Does anyone know where I can order custom license plate (different color)? I would like to get a special license plate, that I would use in special ocations (not on street). Any specialty store?

In CA, I know the black background gold letters for old cars, I would like to get the same color combination with a custom text.

Any Ideas?

There are some people on Ebay that will make tags in just about any color combination...

Commit the felony of your choice, with a little luck (or bad luck) you'll get assigned to the plate-stamping shop and can let your imagination go wild.

Alternatively, I recollect a cart/booth (not a store) at the Mission Viejo mall that does this sort of thing...in front of the movie theater, next to the swedish twins playing their dueling electric violins to promote their collection of CDs.
