Annoying - Power Steering Pump

So my power steering pump took a dive yesterday.. Anyone replaced theirs and have any useful tips or hints ?

Here is some simplified video on a motor that is out of a car

* 3.6L LN block, 06 heads, Carrillo H rods, IDP with 987 intake, Oil mods, LN IMS. * Spec II Clutch, 3.2L S Spec P-P FW. * D2 shocks, GT3 arms & and links, Spacers front and rear * Weight reduced, No carpet, AC deleted, Remote PS pump, PS pump deleted. Recaro Pole position seats, Brey crouse ext. 5 point harness, NHP sport exhaust

With my engine out, I looked at the PS pump and thought, "I hope I never have to replace that." Nice video. I'm sure it will help a lot of people.

yes i had toyed with dropping the engine and doing a complete run through, including IMS and RMS.. but that probably overkill for a PS pump replacement.. its coming on for cold and wet here in the UK so the prospect of spending time in the garage in the cold and wet and the moisture in the air.. i may leave it till summer rolls around..

if i lived back in SoCal or Az.. i would !!

Pulling the engine isn't needed. I removed it twice in the car. I practiced on a spare engine I have in the garage first. The second time after the tube cracked I chose not to put it back in. I now have a electric pump in the frunk.

oh i hear you.. i was considering that while its down i may well go for the one 'thing leads to another' line and do other things to it. but the prospect of cold hands sore knuckles doesn't cut it right now.
