Rear Wing cover fitment from an 02-03 to a 99

I have recently purchased the rear bumper from an 03-04 with the factory lower diffuser. Based on research on this forum it will fit my 99. But I need the rear wing from an 03-04 also since it is wider than that of the 99. Does anyone know if the 03-04 rear wing cover will fit on the 99 rear wing frame? are there anything else I will need to attach the 03-04 wing to the 99?

Was thinking of doing the same. A Porsche part supplier told me that apart from the rear bumper, I'd need around 30 different parts (brackets, etc.) to do the switch-over to the newer style rear bumper.

Hope someone can prove them wrong.

I got a rear bumper from an 03-04, with the rear lower diffuser and rear spoiler for same. But first want to install an "S" center radiator and 911 front bumper.

. . . Stay tuned

Not to derail the thread about the rear- But, I have an 911 front bumper installed. Bolts right up. Keep in mind this is the 996 pre 2002 facelift. Am curious to see if a rear face-lifted Boxster lower/diffuser spoiler are the same too.

sorry friends no progress yet. I live in RI and winter has set in and unfortunately garage space is at a premium. My first order of business is to install an S center radiator which is going to be interesting. Once that is done it will be onto the bumper installs. Not sure if I will try to paint them myself of pay someone to do it. Cash is a little tight these days after Christmas. But I promise I will post to let you all know.

anyone know where i can find a schematic of an 03-04 boxster rear bumper with diffuser? I am looking for the aluminum trim pieces. One of mine is damaged and want to find out how much to replace it. I am looking for the schematic.

OK finally did the install. I bought a 03-04 rear bumper, spoiler, and spoiler bracket and they fit. What is really cool is the stainless aftermarket exhaust can now be seen through the rear diffuser in the new bumper. So I replaced the rear bumper and spoiler with pieces from an 03-04. I also had to replace the spoiler frame the piece the spoiler cover clips onto. Sorry it took so long!

Great news!

Can you please list all the parts, including part numbers? Did you take photos (at least before and after)?

I don't have part numbers, sorry. But I bought a bumper from someone selling on this forum. it was from an 03-04. Just the bumper. Then purchased off ebay the spoiler assembly from an 03-04 boxster. basically the were parting a care out I got the motor, plastic spoiler and the steel bracket that the spoiler attaches to. I will be selling the motor assembly because I didn't need it. but that was it those 3 pieces. I had to get the bumper and spoiler painted to match my car. Pictures to come.

Porsche makes the entire spare parts listing available on line. You can find "schematics" and part numbers yourself.

Yes, I know I can find them in PET, the question is more about listing the exact ones that are needed.

Mikesz: If you have the time, can you please list which brackets, trims, screws, etc. you needed? Which parts of the spoiler?

I know that during the 986 production run, the mounting hardware for the spoiler lip cover changed at least once, for example.

Here's a photo that nicely demonstrates the difference in the '03-'04 spoiler.

Note the changed interface between the bumper and the taillight.
