So I Just Noticed...

My local Porsche Dealer misspelled "Boxster" on their website...

It happens.

It just got a mailer from WinCo which is opening a new store and they got the city it's located in wrong. At least the the rest of the address was right. I guess that makes missing a letter seems not as bad.

It amazes me when I see adds with obvious mis-infomation! I usually find it is the used car lots 'buy here & pay here' that have very little knowledge of cars.
One time i had to explain what a Boxer engine was to a salesman - he was trying to tell me it had a v6! Also seen adds with " very rare tip-tronic", "rear engine", "gas saver 3.2".
I would never buy a car from these places.

I love the ads that say it has a manual and then the pics show a Tip

I once looked at a 2002 base at a ford dealership. (After I already owned mine) and knew much more about it then the salesman. He thanked me for teaching him about the car so he could be better informed when potential buyers ask questions. I like to believe I know more about these cars than the people who work at my local porsche dealer. (Besides the parts guys/mechanics) All they seem to know/care about is selling high volume Cayennes and Audi A4's.

I've seen a 2013 991 described as a (Tip-Tronick) automatic. (Yes, they put a K on the end of tiptronic)I had to walk away from the computer and regather my self.

I've always preferred Boxter.

It's more elegant and simpler with an exotic flair.

Now that's funny, you didn't see "adds" you saw "ads"

Jay,
They probably mean it has a manual, meaning the book to explain the operation of the vehicle. LOL.

At least that's better than someone taking a Boxster to Jiffy Lube.

That visual made me shudder!

Browsing car ads on CL is always good for a laugh. The grammar and forehead-slapping information is truly mind-boggling.

Saw a black 987 being pulled into the JL bay on my way home the other day. Almost stopped to go ask the owner WTF they were doing.

I do this...

...for my annual inspections! (guys are great with my car at this particular JL). May be YMMV. For actual repair/maintenance work? Negative! Inspection I feel good about.

You don't trust them to have the expertise to fix your Boxster, yet you trust them to have the expertise to inspect it properly?
