Yeah, the Texas state inspection (which stateofidleness speaks of) is just a quick state-mandated test to prove a car is still road-worthy. Smog, headlights, brake lights, etc, to get your sticker so you can register your car. It's not a mechanical inspection to give a Porsche a clean bill of health, just a safety inspection to make sure your car, in and of itself, is safe on the road.
