Maybe I got lucky with the two sets I bought off eBay, both black, one with colored crest the other with black and silver crest and both came with a circular wire insert that provides tension on the tabs and keeps them from breaking. The colored crest set was around $33 and the black and silver was $23 both sets made very well and neither has faded after three years. I showed one to a concours judge, in our region, and he looked it over carefully and said "wow, that's as good as OEM."

I bought a set on Ebay for my winter wheels and tires. Two of the decals are peeling a bit.I also got valve stem caps with the logo included for like 29 bucks. Wouldn`t put them on my summers.

"Decals"? If your caps have decals instead of actual crests, you may have went too cheap.

These are the set I bought in early 2013. The crest sits in a recess.

They still look great after 2+ years

I got some last year. The frints have already discolored from the brake dust, but the backs look fine. To be honest, I'd be happier with some blank ones.

I am currently rocking the Ebay ones. Sprayed them with clear just in case.

Do you have a link to the set you purchased?

These are off eBay for $16 SHIPPED. Are they identical to OEM? No. Are they as nice? No. Am I happy for $16. Oh yeah. The fit is very good.
