Problem: Start Disabled

So, last week the local Porsche dealer had my car--2010 987.2 base--and replaced the fuel gauge sender. Seemed to be hunky-dory after that.

Went to start the car today, and nothing. All warning lights on, message "PSM Failure," and "ABS Failure." Turn key to start position, not even a solenoid click. All electrics seem to work--windows, lights, etc., but PCM is dead. Tried a few more times, and now, when start is engaged there's a rapid clicking sound, but nothing else.

Ideas?

Sounds like a dead/low battery
How old is your battery?

Not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was original. I stored the car over the winter, and used an Optimate. Got two-out-of-three green lights.

Could it be a battery problem even if the lights are working?

Thanks!

if the sender was replaced, the battery must have been removed.
inspect the cables if they are tight.

YES. I had the same problem. All lights working but car would not start. Replaced the battery and then had zero problems. Boxsters take a lot of juice to start. Store manager told me the battery had enough power to work the lights but Not enough to turn the starter. He was right.
