^ well if the track is a private property requiring someone to pay to enter then I don't think the driver has the duty to conceal his personal information. And the driver would need to be notified upon entering that a third party has been permitted to photograph the events.

And you may think it's paranoia to protect one's identity on a private property, but whether you are correct or not is irellevant.
Depending on the venue and the laws for that jurisdiction, it may be perfectly within their right to demand that you not publish what was not photographed in public.

As a thought experiment: would you use the same argument to publish pics you took at a nudist camp? It might seem extreme, but I think the participants at both places probably expect their presence to be a "safe" place to do whatever it is they're doing there, and not to end up on the internet without their knowledge.

We don't have front plates here, so the people who photograph AX days shoot the front or side or the cars. I hadn't though of it, but they post them to our region site and I don't believe I've seen a shot with a plate showing. Intent or random? Don't know, but I think I'll ask now.

Under certain circumstances, sure, I can see that.
I guess I'm lucky to go to tracks who advise drivers at the driver's meeting that there are photographers (track hired, or walk-ins) .. and which are also free for the public to come and spectate.

Radium was originally talking about breaking cameras.. that seems mindless.

Seems like the track owners or event organizers get to make the rules, not the customers or participants. Your privacy is your responsibility.

Ahh a "Gedanken" experiment! Good point

something similar happend the other day at my Barnes & Noble. They were filming a commercial inside and plastered all the windows and doors with a warning that said something along the lines of "we are filming, do not enter if you do not want to be recorded".

For those wondering how to correctly post photos of your car- I offer this suggestion-- to make sure your identity is safe.

Uh oh, so I hear you are coming to my local Auto-X and think you can beat the pants off of me so I called the RCMP and reported a car with your plate as stolen by an armed bandit, in the vicinity of the Auto-X track.

That ought to slow you down!

I also photo copied your plate to full size and use it over my own plate when I drive down the toll roads. hehehe.

See, the stolen identity can be used for all sorts of fun stuff.

I know because I have been a victim of the toll roads scam.
I keep getting bills from the toll road folks claiming I owe them fees and late fees and more fees for using the toll roads. I never drive the toll roads because I don't live near any.

Anyway, just joking of course, but the point is to avoid having your identity out there for idiots to torture you with.

That's hilarious, well not for you I suppose. It must be a pain in the ask. Do they waive the fees when you explain? I never would have thought of that toll road trick (thanks!)

You have nothing to fear from me on the autocross track. Just the thought of cone scuffs gives me nightmares!

Well, Google came up with this:
Eastern National Bristol Lodekka 976 DHK B W Photo | eBay

This:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqx0wVEDTZE

And this:
http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/53548-i-need-know-3.html

So you're either:
A) the former owner of a British double decker bus recently sold on e-Bay;
B) Some kind of cray-cray You-Tube dancing maniac; or
C) A wise but cantankerous Boxster owner who has little use for fools.

I'm in the U.S., so I hope I didn't violate any international laws or U.S.-Canadian treaty.

That is pretty funny, but now that I've been outed, does anyone know where I can get the M030 ROW kit for my bus?

Don't know how you found it, but I'm pretty sure that's one of Danger's old dance videos.

Me, cantankerous? Perish the thought!
