One touch lane change blinkers?

On my Jetta, if you bump the blinker stalk up or down briefly, it blinks the signal three times; useful for changing lanes and not having to hold the stalk during the lane change. Since the Jetta was my previous DD and I spend a lot of time on the highway changing lanes I've kinda grown to miss that feature. Is the blinker controlled by a control module, say like the top? If, so, could someone modify the module to include the "one-touch" lane change feature?

I have that one-touch feature installed in my Boxster:

WAECO MagicTouch MT-2000

Probably ~50-100$ nowadays. Worth every penny imo!

Thanks! looks like that module (MT-2000) is sold in Europe. Don't see an equivalent in the US but now at least I know what to look for. I might just get the Amazon UK version.

I don't think the hardware and software would be too different from the convertible top project. Both monitor the duration of time a switch is closed. Based on that the convertible top holds the switch contacts for a period of time that allows the top to close. The blinker would close the switch long enough for three blinks only.

If both switches control relays with approximately the same current draw, maybe the hardware would work as designed for the top project.

VW sells a kit to add this "convenience" feature.

With you ekam. My father's Mercedes had this feature and I Hated It every time I drove it. Much prefer to have control over how many blinks I show and in what situation. To each their own, though.

This is what I found for VW/Audi. Don't know enough about it yet but looks like it's installed inline with the emergency blinker button.

That kit (if it is plug and play) looks to be a deal, you could never source those connectors and the delay-relay being used for $55

More detail would help.

The wiring is a bit different on the New Beetle compared to Jetta/Golf, but I was able to make the kit work.

It's really about studying the wiring diagram and understanding principles.

I have confidence Dwight P can figure it out ... maybe even sell some adapter wiring if it comes to that!
