New owner with a few questions
Finally found the Boxster for me.
1) I notice the gauge display and the radio stays on for a bit after the car is turned off. Is this normal?
2) I had trouble getting the key to turn in the ignition once. Is this a sign it needs replacing.
3) The wind break between the seats is missing. Is it worth replacing, do they work?
I'm sure I'll more.

Welcome to the forum.
Great looking car.
My radio does the same thing.
Your ignition issue sounds common but is a cheap fix.
My car came without the rear wind deflector too. I just tell myself that I have the top down to FEEL the air not block it.

Beautiful color combination. Congrats! She'll look even better when de-ambered.
I agree with luckyed. The wind deflector is nice, but like many Porsche parts, sorely overpriced. Keep checking this forum for a used one.

I looked Into buying your car and I really hope I am not the one sharing this news but this car does have a salvage title, the owner did not tell me that, I only found out when is accidentally ran its car fax, I may still have the carfax around, it was front end damage.

Only thing to add is relatd to the key, be aware of the position of the wheel and the wheel lock. If the column is locked it can be difficult to get it unlocked and that can be seem like the key is hard to turn. In summary, keep the wheels straight ahead and don't lock the steering...unless you have a specific need. If you do this and the key is hard to turn, there is a mechanical and electric component that may be the issue. The failure of the electrical component is common and (debatibly) easy to replace. Just don't take it to a dealer as they will change both and charge $$$$...search, lots of info...

Jake - doesn't this one have the non-S bumper as well? OP - that third radiator might be blocked...in that GA heat, be interesting to see how well the engine temp manages. Sorry to be the bearer of this news if you were no already aware.

Yes this is the one with the bad bumper, when I asked the owner back when looking at this car, his responses was that the last guy preferred it that way. Still a nice car OP I just really hope you did not pay his asking price for a salvage title car.

I wasn't aware of the salvage title, didn't look close enough, or the wrong bumper cover. I didn't pay full price and still think I got a decent deal. The car runs great, tracks straight and doesn't run hot. However, I'm considering cutting a center vent and covering it with some screening.

If you didn't see it already, here is a link to Pedro's DIY for adding the center vent, enjoy a great looking Boxster and happy 4th

Regarding the ignition switch, mine does that when there is the least amount of side pressure on the steering. try putting slight pressure on your steering wheel in each direction and maintaining while you turn the key. It's load on the key barrel and consequent binding that is keeping the key from turning if its the same issue mine has.
