WOT Whine?

I have had my Boxster for about 8 months now and it has done this since day one of my ownership. Just curious if anyone else hears a whine when you lay into it and then start to shut it down. For example I will take it to just about red line in 2nd gear and rather than put it into third right away, I just punch in the clutch and let the RPMs come down and then pick the desire gear with a slight rev match. When it is reving down from the 2nd gear pull, I hear a bit of a whine. Anyone else experience this?

Yes, my engine has always had a similar whine during run down from high rpm.
