Anyone else had this problem?

I've had my 99 for two years,The hood and trunk has dents coming up from the inside. They are all coming up from where the inside crossbraces are located.Starting to look bad now.I saw 3 hoods on ebay for sale and the seller said theirs had this same problem.Any ideas.

maybe you or the previous owner has shut the trunk onto something too tall to fit in the shallow trunks?

Yep, me too...trunk and frunk. I think it's from people sitting on them and the metal bending around the braces.

Sounds like the seal is old or collapsed and rough roads allow contact at points with very tight clearance, or the brace moves enough to contact the hoods. Cover the inside of the affected area with that carbon paper used in receipt books and drive on rough surfaces. See if it shows any contact points.

I have some as well on the trunk. Reeeeall sucks. Definitely looks like someone tried really hard to make a big square box fit in the trunk and the two corners nearest to the end of the trunk didn't fit
