CRONO 1 going widebody... and then yellow! Thoughts?
Mr. Danger should be happy!
With my new power output, they highly recommend I get more traction. This is achieved with either a bigger wing or bigger wheels. I decided to go both. I'm probably going to get the CSR widebody. With this much into it, I thought of respraying the car another color. Black was fun, but I'm ready for something new. Yellow came to mind. Thoughts? |
For those who don't remember:

Ive always liked the car part due to its size, and in its current condition your car is a GREAT looking Boxster! The wide body kinda ruins her hips you know haha... but yeah depending on what you do to the rear, the front does look good.

Sweet!
|
Yea, the wide is only the rear. And it's more performance oriented... so there's that.
|
I like it Crono, a lot actually
I'd keep the tail (if you meant spoiler) as-is. I'd simply trust what the designers have already signed-off on and install everything exactly as on the visuals above. You might also want to seek advice from the manufacturer of the kit RE recommended wheel offsets for the rears. Not sure if large spacers will be the best options as they may turn out to be very large/heavy. I see new wheels being needed already :/ Looks good. Nice early birthday gift |
I'll have wheels with a big negative offset.

Can't wait to see the car when all done |
Crono that looks fantastic my friendI am looking into something like this myself. If you would not mind sending me a pm once its all done and how much things cost that would be very helpful. If you share that info I can then in turn go to my local body shop and give them that info and ask if they will do my boxster for that price.

pretty cool. tough to tell - does it do a tt-style side air intake? if you want to go wide for a little less $, AIR (http://www.americaninternationalracing.com/custom.asp?id=259246&page=102) does an inexpensive set of rear flares. and if you go here (American International Racing) you can find front fenders with flare as well - I think kroggers has some experience with these. I've actually been thinking just some jdm universal front flares would work quite fine also. otherwise there is also jacquemond (Jacquemond : The luxury coachbuilder for Porsche & Ferrari cars.) for a fine-looking widebody kit. but the csr looks great.

Widebody conversion = problems & money you will never see again! |
I love the wide body Boxsters, do it and post pictures of the progress! You gotta go for super wide rubber. The 911 Turbo wheels will probably be perfect.
|
That wide body looks nice!!!!!!
Byprodriver..... besides the cost, just like any mod, whats the cons in going widebody? |
Love that wide body look.
I'd keep just as pictured wing and all looks great. I would not bother sticking to stock Boxster colors since your not stock anymore. Ive seen some hot orange boxsters. If you cant decide then get a vinyl car wrap, and try a color on for 5 years. love your polished rims, ill have to do that next, they look great on a black car |

Precision Motors in Cali are shoving in an M96 re-sleeved to 3.8L. Puts 375 to the wheels.
I thought about the vinyl wrap, but I don't want it to look cheap. Same with the universal JDM fender flares. If I was going to go wide, I would do it right. I really do miss my car. I've been Porsche-less since October (why my activeness here has dwindled). But I must say, my AE86 F20c is faster than the Boxster ever was. Just as much fun too! |

This one is my favorite though

Does anyone have any experience with a widebody set up? does it change handling or anything.
|
The yellow color will look great!
